Yannis Philippakis a été en studio récemment (comme l’attesterait le flux incessant de photos de son compte Instagram). Cependant, le chanteur de Foals affirme qu’il ne travaillait aucunement sur du nouveau matos pour le groupe British mais plutôt sur un nouveau projet en collaboration avec Tony Allen (batteur de Fela Kuti).
I started doing some tracks with him last year and then I was on tour. So I went back to finish them in Paris.
Point d’album solo pour Yannis non plus puisqu’il dit clairement avoir bossé avec Tony Allen sur ces morceaux en vu du futur album du batteur.
So he’s writing a record and hopefully some of the tracks we’ve been working on will be on that album.
Le frontaman de Foals ayant clairement besoin de d’exprimer artistiquement sans quoi il devient fou ; quelques temps après ce taff et la fin de leur tournée, nul doute que les mecs de Foals retourneront en studio pour bosser sur le successeur de leur honorable dernier album (malgré le fait que le chanteur annonce qu’il resteront un peu à l’écart).
I really want to have a bit of a break before we start writing for Foals, so it’s the perfect cross point. When I’m in my house and I’m not writing anything I start to go a bit mental.
I have to do something so this is the perfect thing to do that isn’t Foals. It’s been a real honour to get to write with him. That’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve been writing bits here and there, but I don’t know if it’s for Foals yet. We’re not in a hurry.
