L’actualité de Radiohead ces dernières années – rééditions mises a part – s’est surtout résumé aux side project de ses membres :
Thom York & Jonny Greenwood dans The Smile, ainsi que quelques BO pour Greenwood, Colin Greenwood et sa tournée avec Nick Cave, Ed O’brien avec son album solo Earth et Phil Selway avec son 3e album solo a venir le mois prochain.
Mais après qu’Ed O’Brien ait fait son normand l’été dernier sur le retour de Radiohead :
It might happen, but the other thing is… it might not. And does that matter?
Phil Selway lors d’un interview pour Spin, a mis fin aux attentes :
We’re going to get together at the start of [2023], and I’m sure we’re going to start looking at other ideas for what comes next. Hail to the Thief — it’s a long time since that record, isn’t it?
2023 sera donc le début d’une gestation pour Radiohead en vu d’un album !
