Tom Morello continu la promo de son nouvel album et nous vante sur Instagram sa collaboration avec Chris Stapleton : The War inside. Le morceau a été écrit par les 2 artistes et traite de leurs émotions et expériences durant la pandémie.
Chris Stapleton and I wrote “The War Inside” about the emotions and experiences we were both facing during the height of the pandemic. Though we were all in lockdown and felt quite isolated, we knew the thesis « It’s really tough to win the war inside” spoke to a universal feeling.
La chanson sonne comme une lost track d’un album d’Audioslave et la collaboration a été faite à distance : Les enregistrements de Stapleton et de son groupe à Nashville avec Dave Cobb. Puis Morello y a rajouté ses parties guitare chez lui à Los Angeles, comme le montre le post Instagram de Chris Stapleton :
