Nouveau gros délire pour les Viagra Boys et le clip « In Spite Of Ourselves », une reprise de John Pine assurée aux côtés de Amy Taylor de Amyl and the Sniffers.
Filmé sur un bon gros fond vert et des vidéos encore marquée du sceau de la banque d’images Getty Images, le duo chante le portrait d’un coupe amer ne se supportant plus. Sebastian Murphy s’amuse à reprendre un accent de redneck, quand Amy en fait autant d’une manière tout aussi exotique, Consequence Of Sound déclamant :
« Altogether, it’s one of the most chaotically-accented songs you’ll ever hear. »
“When i heard “In Spite” the first time i instantly had an urge to do a cover of it and i instantly knew that i wanted Amy to sing Iris DeMent’s part because of her unique voice. i love that she sings with an australian accent which is not too common in country songs ive heard before.”
Quand Taylor ajoute :
“I was so excited when Viagra Boys asked me to do a duet with them. Sebastian is a classy man but let’s be true, we’re both insanely feral and gross, so the lyrics are perfect, I love tomato sauce and have a foul mouth so it’s like he’s singing right to me, what an honour.”
À noter, le titre servira de titre conclusion au prochain album des Viagra Boys, attendu le 8 Janvier.
