On se souvient que Nine Inch Nails a été introduit au « panthéon du rock » via le Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Et si l’on sait que NINE INCH NAILS IS TRENT REZNOR, une liste de musiciens ayant accompagné celui-ci avait été retenue, à savoir :
- Atticus Ross
- Robin Finck
- Alessandro Cortini
- Ilan Rubin
- Chris Vrenna
- Danny Lohner
Cela avait été mal vécu par Richard Patrick quand d’autres s’étonnaient à juste titre l’absence de Charlie Clouser pas moins longtemps présent qu’Alessandro Cortini pour les claviers. On se disait donc que l’institution avait un peu merdé et que le Maître aurait pu corriger…
Bon bah on apprend que la liste, c’était bien la liste du Maître avant toute chose !
“From my perspective, I just felt it was the right thing to do. I think, kind of lazily, the approach was, ‘Okay, we’re just going to induct you.’ Then I thought I’d push back and say, ‘Well, you need to at the very least induct Atticus, and you should induct these guys.’ And that was pre-pandemic. It’s backed up by the precedent where you could look at other bands and say, “The Cure got these guys in. That guy’s been in the band X amount of time.’ Again, I wasn’t the one presenting the case, but I felt strongly that it’s a shared recognition. And it would certainly feel better to me. It wasn’t rolling a boulder up a hill. They weren’t against it. I don’t know where their minds were at, but I’m glad it turned out the way it did.”
Voilà qui devrait moins faire plaisir aux musiciens restés sur le carreau. J’ai comme l’impression que Richard et Trent vont être moins potes imaginaires que le voulait Rich.
