Smashing Pumpkins : 2 nanas, 2 EP !

    Après avoir retrouvé le bébé au zizi de « Nevermind » (Nirvana), la nana en maillot de « Around The Fur » (Deftones), on se demandait quand on allait revoir les gamines de « Siamese Dream » des Smashing Pumpkins. Et bah voilà, avec le retour du groupe, Corgan est allé rechercher Ali et Lysandra (leurs noms donc) pour annoncer le retour des Citrouilles pour une tournée dédiée aux 5 premiers albums. Corgan en a aussi profité récemment pour expliquer qu’il avait écrit les paroles de 8 nouveaux titres qui s’inscriraient dans un plus gros projet (!) et qu’il aurait réfléchi depuis quelques années, sans en dire plus. En tout cas, retour en studio la semaine prochaine avec Jimmy et James Iha tout en espérant balancer rapidement ce nouveau son et qui serait présent sous la forme de 2 EP autour de la tournée. À noter que cela servirait de porte d’entrée à ce grand (ou « grandiose ») projet si on en croit le frontman. Cela dépasserait tout ce que lui, James, Jimmy et Jeff auraient fait.
    Nous verrons donc si le frontman est repris d’un excès de mégalomanie ou s’il disait juste…

     

    On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon). Never realizing that this moment in time would forever tie usr, and go on to become such an iconic image in rock history. What’s amazing is their chemistry with one another still leaps through the camera to this day and yet if memory serves they’d never met before that Siamese shoot. Which tells me their coming together, and the beauty that Melodie’s shot captures, of youth and innocence, was meant to be SP’s own, personal lucky star. So thank you thank you thank you Ali and LySandra, we adore you, and having you be a part of today’s launch brings tears to my eyes. For life goes fast, and I can still see you in my mind’s eye wearing crisp white dresses in a stranger’s backyard, looking like little Mother Mary’s, smiling and laughing into the sun.
