The Smile, le side project de Jonny Greenwood et Thom Yorke de Radiohead, accompagné par le batteur Tom skinner, sort son 1er single officiel.
Le groupe est issu d’une envie de Jonny Greenwood d’écrire des morceaux avec Thome Yorke pendant le lockdown:
The Smile came about from just wanting to work on music with Thom in lockdown. We didn’t have much time, but we just wanted to finish some songs together. It’s been very stop-start, but it’s felt a happy way to make music.
Ils avaient fait une 1ere apparition en Stream pour le Glastonbury . Le single se prénomme You will never work in televison again et c’est un single pêchu, un peu punk rock.
Le groupe travail en ce moment pour finir l’album, avec la participation du producteur Nigel Godrich, collaborateur de longue date de Radiohead. Pour le moment pas de sortie d’annoncée car le groupe est encore dans le tri des morceaux d’après Greenwood:
We’re sitting in front of a pile of music, working out what will make the record. We’re thinking of how much to include, whether it’s really finished or if there are a few guitars that need fixing. I’d hope it’ll come out soon, but I’m the wrong person to ask.
